If you plan to integrate smart search into your site, then depending on the number of pages on the site, we will offer you one out of three Multisearch tariff plans. The Professional and Enterprise plans include an Ecommerce package — a feature designed to increase sales in large stores. We will tell you what it is. We will also talk a little about an important tool for large stores — assigning a product identifier to specific search queries.
Bestseller, promotion, and latest - above, "out of stock" - below
In addition to the basic functions of smart search, you get the opportunity to choose independently which products the user should see first. The search results will not just contain relevant products but also will take into consideration which products you want to show above and which below. The Ecommerce package allows you to influence the ranking of search results.
Here what can you do with the Ecommerce package opportunities:
- increase the priority of certain products in the search results - by status, brands, number of sales, popularity, etc.;
- influence the ranking order of items depending on its status - on order, in stock, at the warehouse;
- display the color tags: special offer, sale, hit / top seller, new product, etc.
- display the crossed-out old and new prices;
- omit below items that are out of stock, without photos, descriptions, and prices.

As a result of customizing the Ecommerce package, search results will first show tagged products and new items based on the creation date. Optionally, you can enable automatic detection of new products. Another advantage of the package is that products with no photo, description, price, or “out of stock” status will be omitted below.
Furthermore, the functionality allows you not to leave "empty" queries with zero output. In this case, the algorithm will show relevant products to the query that “out of stock”. Due to displaying out-of-stock products on-site, the user can contact the sales department and clarify the date of arrival of the desired item or select a similar one.
For example, a user enters the query on your site: "Asus laptop". The first thing he sees: products with the new price, new products, products with tags, or the most popular ones.

All information must be entered into the feed
To sort out products by rating or to make them have tags, new prices, etc., you need to add relevant information to the feed. The feed is indexed hourly, so the changes will appear on the site within an hour.
Here is how to make it:
- To add labels to products, you need to add a <label> tag to the upload data with the value of the product type (New, Popular, Discount, etc.). Once added, products with such tags will appear higher in search results.
- To add a new price, add the <oldprice> tag to the upload data with the old price before the discount.
- To allow ranking to take into consideration the internal weight/rating/popularity of a product, add a <ordering> tag to the upload data with a numeric value that will reflect the importance of the product in search results.
Search output management through ID assignment option
Now let's talk about the ID assignment option. It is not included in the Ecommerce package, but it is also very important for the big players of the retail market. With the help of this feature, the marketer will be able to control search results pointwise and show TOP positions for specific search queries. The option is available in the "Enterprise" tariff plan. ID assigning gives you even more control over your search results. By assigning an ID, you will be able to identify goods or services and more accurately manage output results. The parameter is not displayed in any way in the user part of the site and may differ from the article number. When setting up a search, you can select one of the product parameters as an identifier: id, article, or other unique code.
The function is just indispensable for online stores with a large assortment. Items that have such an identifier will be displayed above the rest of the items in search results. For example, on such search query as “Max Factor Mascara” products with assigned IDs will be displayed first:
- 710073 - Max Factor 2000 Calorie Curl Addict Mascara;
- 640921 - Max Factor 2000 Calorie Dramatic Volume Mascara;
- 224150 - Max Factor False Lash Effect Mascara;
- 223521 - Max Factor Brow Revival Mascara.
You can complement your Ecommerce package with the function of the Shopping Cart in search results. It helps users to make purchases faster and to increase conversion. Read more about the shopping cart here.
