What is the difference between Multisearch and Elasticsearch?

It is incorrect to call Elasticsearch (ES) a ready-made solution for site search. The technology gives the possibility to develop a search but does not offer complete solutions. ES doesn't have an algorithm of learning on conversion — it doesn't give out products based on popularity. The service does not take into account sales and views when calculating relevance. MS allows you to display the relevant products in the first positions, taking into account sales, views, and other important information. 

These features are also not available in the ES:

  • autocomplete in the form of continuation of search queries, 
  • dynamic filters that are generating instantly without reference to product categories.
